Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Mobilization

For immediate release:

DOVER, MA – This holiday weekend, the Dover Police Department will be taking part in the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign as extra officers will be assigned to traffic enforcement to actively pursue intoxicated drivers.

As part of the program, more officers are working more hours to help get drunk drivers off the road. DPD has extended it’s continuing commitment to keeping our roads safe by aligning with the campaign’s goals of taking intoxicated drivers off the roads, educating the public about the dangers of impaired driving and deterring people from getting behind the wheel after using alcohol or drugs.

This program is funded through grants from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s Highway Safety Division (EOPSS-HSD) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

As traffic increases for the New Years weekend, the Dover Police Department will join 180 local law enforcement agencies and the Mass State Police to deliver the simple message: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.
