For immediate release:

img_4993DOVER, MA – At their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, September 22, 2016, the Town of Dover Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to appoint Danielle L. Estrella to the part time position of Animal Control Officer (“ACO”) with the Dover Police Department. This position fills a vacancy left by the retirement of the previous ACO, Elaine M. Yoke.

Estrella brings over 10 years of ACO experience and comes to us from a previous ACO position in the Town of Needham. “Danielle comes highly recommended and will have an easy transition to accommodating the Animal Control needs of Dover, having come from such a similar community,” noted Chief Peter A. McGowan.

Dover’s ACO provides improved quality Animal Control services to all residents and works to provide a fast response to all calls for animal-related assistance. This includes enforcing Animal Control by-laws and Mass General Laws, removing remove sick or injured wildlife, investigating dog bites and determining risk of rabies exposure and need for testing, investigating cruelty and/or neglect complaints, and educating the public about responsible pet ownership. More information can be found here.

Calls for the ACO Estrella will be referred through the Emergency Communications Center by calling 508-785-1130.
