Juveniles Approached In Neighborhood; Parties Identified

For immediate release:

DOVER, MA – On Sunday, April 12, 2015, the Dover Police Department received a report of a male and female in a red van attempting to speak with two 11 year old girls in a neighborhood off of Glen Street. The girls immediately fled when they noticed the man, and told a trusted adult.

Working with witness statements and information gathered, the Detectives Bureau developed information as to the identity and whereabouts of the driver of the van. Detective Eagles spoke to this party and confirmed he was the male involved in the suspicious activity call from Sunday. After interviewing him it was determined that he used to live in Dover and was showing a friend where he grew up. We are confident that this was a misunderstanding and at no time were the girls in any danger. No further action will be taken in this case.
