Truck Rollover on Route 109

For immediate release:

DOVER, MA – At approximately 11:18am, the Dover Police Emergency Communications Center received multiple E911 calls for a truck crash on Rte 109 at the intersection of Apple Tree Lane. Dover officers arrived and found a cement truck on its side, blocking the entire roadway, and a 18 ft box truck with extensive damage on the side of the road. The Dover Police were assisted on scene by Dover Fire and EMS, Walpole Police, Fire and EMS and Medfield Police.

A preliminary investigation has determined that the box truck exited Apple Tree Lane on to Rte 109 and was struck by the cement truck that was travelling eastbound on Rte 109. The cement truck, owned by Tresca Brothers Concrete, Sane and Gravel of Millis MA then overturned. All occupants of both vehicles were out the trucks upon police arrival, and two were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Rte 109 was closed in both directions for several hours during investigation and vehicle removal before being reopened.

The investigation is on going with the assistance of the truck team from the Massachusetts State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section.
