Dover PD Investigates Motor Vehicle Versus Bicyclist Crash

For immediate release:

DOVER, MA – On Tuesday, June 16th, 2015, at 6:36 am, the Dover Police responded to a motor vehicle versus bicyclist crash on Centre Street at Dedham Street near the Highland Cemetery.

Sergeant Ed Meau and Officer Chuck Marscher arrived on scene to find the cyclist, a 55 year old male from Medfield, unsconscious with visible serious injuries. Medevac helicopters were unavailable at the time of the crash due to rain. The Dover Ambulance was assisted on scene by medics from the Westwood Fire Department, who subsequently transported the patient to Norwood Hospital. From there, he was transferred by MedFlight medevac helicopter to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

A preliminary investigation shows an Acura MDX operated by a 67 year old male from Dover was stopped at the stop sign on Dedham Street eastbound and then entered Centre Street, colliding with the southbound travelling bicyclist. This incident remains under investigation.
