Dover Police Investigate Pedestrian Stuck on Springdale Ave

For immediate release:

DOVER, MA – On Saturday, June 6th, 2015, at 7:13pm the Town of Dover Emergency Communications Center received multiple E-911 calls reporting a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash with injuries on Springdale Ave.

Officer Doug Comman and Officer Rob Clouse arrived on scene and found a pickup truck had collided with a pedestrian in the westbound travel lane of Springdale Ave, infront of the Dover Market and Higgins Liquor Store building, where there is no crosswalk. They immediately began rendering aid to the victim until members of the Dover Fire Department’s Ambulance arrived. Officer Harry Grabert and Officer Dave Chaisson also responded to the crash, along with the Medics of the Westwood Fire Department.

The victim, a 55 year old female from Dover, was flown by Boston Medflight medevac helicopter to Tufts Medical Center in Boston with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation determined that that there was no improper operation contributing to the crash on behalf of the operator of the pickup truck, a 32 year old male from Framingham, but he did not have a valid driver’s license. The operator was summonsed for Unlicensed Operation and will later appear in Dedham District Court on the charge.

The crash remains under investigation and the victim’s name has been withheld pending family notification.
