Haven St Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

For immediate release:

DOVER, MA – At approximately 11:50am on December 10, 2014, the Town of Dover Emergency Communications Center received multiple E-911 calls reporting a single car crash at the intersection of Main Street and Haven Street. Responding units arrived to find a Subaru Forrester on the lawn of #29 Main Street. The vehicle had caught fire and passerby had removed the lone occupant and driver from the vehicle prior to the arrival of emergency responders.

The occupant, an 86 year old female from Westwood, was transported to Metrowest Medical Center, Natick Campus, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Initial investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling northerly on Main Street and left the travel lane, crossing through the intersection of Haven St and onto the property of #29 Main Street.

The Dover Police Department was assisted on scene by the Dover Fire Department, Dover EMS, Westwood EMS, Needham EMS and Needham PD. The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (“CARS”) and the Norfolk County District Attorney CPAC unit will assist the Dover Police department with the investigation.

The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.
